Kyseessä oleva mekko on viimeisin vaate jonka olen suunnitellut ja valmistanut.
Materiaalina käytin puuvillasamettia sekä polkadot harsoa, sekä useita erilaisia pitsejä.
Mekko on myös monimutkaisin jonka olen tainnut ikinä ommella, jo pelkän yhden hihan ompelemiseen meni kuutisen tuntia.
Yhteensä molempiin hihoihin meni noin 15 metriä pitsiä ^^
Mekossa on runsasti yksityiskohtia: esim sametti edessä on päällystetty kokoaan polkadot harsolla. Hihoihin sain lisää joustoa lisäämällä kaitaleen poladot kangasta, joka joustaa enemmän kuin sametti.
Otin mekkooni vaikutteita mm. Angelic Prettyn victoriaanis tyyppisistä mekoista. Oma mekkoni on tosin mitoitettu eurooppalaiselle vartalolle = vyötärö ei ole rintojen alla vaan ihan siellä missä kuuluukin olla.
Takana oleva shirring antaa lisää väljyyttä, ja nyörityksellä mekkoa voi kiristää tiukemmaksi. Takana on myös irroitettava rusetti.
Samettia lukuunottamatta kaikki materiaalit olen tilannut ulkomailta. Suomen hinnoilla tästä mekosta tulisi niin järkyttävän kallis, ettei sitä olisi mitään järkeä valmistaa.

The dress might be the most complicated I have ever sown; it took six hours to fabricate one single sleeve! Overall, I had to use about 15 metres of lace for the sleeves.
There are a lot of details in the dress. For example the velvet in the front is completely covered with polkadot scrim. I was able to add some stretch in the sleeves by adding a strip of polkadot fabric, which is more elastic than velvet.
My dress was influenced by the Victorian dresses by Angelic Pretty among other things, although it is sized for the European body type, which means that the waistline is not under the breasts but where it should be.
The shirring in the back makes the dress more loose, and the lacing makes it possible to tighten the dress as well. There is a removable bow in the back of the dress.
I have ordered all the materials from overseas except for the lace. The prices here in Finland are so high that this dress would become ridiculously expensive and fabricating it would not make any sense.
